Our Optometrists
Dr. Robert Salganik O.D
Dr. Robert Salganik graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 1984 and immediately relocated his family to Waco and started his practice with his father-in-law at Optical Dispensary. He furthered his optometric education at the University of Houston to acquire his therapeutic license in 1988, at which point he began his treatment with infectious diseases of the eye. In June of 2011, Dr. Salganik opened his second practice, Salganik Vision Group and Optique. A significant part of his contact lens practice involves the fitting of gas permeable and scleral contact lenses; as Dr. Salganik is one of the only qualified eye doctors in Central Texas to fit Scleral lenses. He custom designs eye care for each patient’s needs, which may include singlevision, bifocal, trifocal, multifocal and/or and mono vision contact lenses. He also specializes in fitting irregular corneas with Keratoconus in Gas Permeable (GP) or Scleral contact lenses, which for certain patients provide better vision when compared to a spectacle, or regular glasses prescription.
When gas permeable lenses are not an option, Dr. Salganik uses a hybrid design which has a gas permeable center within a soft silicon lens. He will customize the right choice of contact lenses, glasses, or both for each individual patient’s unique needs.
Janine Aman O.D.
Dr. Janine Aman graduated from the University of Houston in 1995. She has worked in Waco at the Optical Dispensary for the last eight years. She is a Therapeutic Optometrist. Dr. Aman treats pink eye and emergency situations such as the removal of foreign bodies from the eye. She is highly skilled at fitting contact lenses for all age groups. She loves working with young children, as well as the elderly. She can also conduct eye exams in Spanish. She is looking forward to utilizing her eye care professionalism and expertise with future patients, who are interested in a passionate eye doctor, as well as and an office that cater to each patient’s comprehensive eye care needs.
